From My Daughter’s Sensitive Skin to Naturalis: A Story of Family, Tradition & Handmade Soap
Sometimes the most meaningful journeys begin with a problem we never expected.
Naturalis Handcrafted Soaps was not born from a business plan. It was born from a mother’s love, a grandmother’s wisdom, and the desire to find something gentle for my daughter’s sensitive skin.
My name is Patricia, and my story began far away from Wisconsin — in Chile, where I was born and raised. In 2000, I moved to the United States, carrying with me my culture, my traditions, and the memories of natural ingredients that have been treasured for generations.
Growing up in Chile, I always believed nature had something beautiful to offer us. But it wasn’t until years later, when my daughter struggled with severe eczema-prone skin, that this belief became something much more personal.
Like many parents, I felt helpless watching my child deal with dry, irritated, uncomfortable skin. We tried so many options, but I kept searching for something simple, gentle, and made with ingredients I could trust.
That is when my mom, Nury, stepped in.
Using her knowledge, love for natural ingredients, and inspiration from our Chilean roots, she created a special soap using rosehip oil — an ingredient treasured in Chile for its nourishing properties.
That little handmade soap became the beginning of something we never imagined.
During COVID, my life changed again. After losing my job and leaving behind years in the corporate world, I found myself at a crossroads. Instead of seeing it only as an ending, I decided to follow my heart and put my energy into something that already meant so much to our family.
Together, my mom and I created Naturalis Handcrafted Soaps.
What started in our home became a small family business built around the same values we started with: simple ingredients, handcrafted products, and a lot of love behind every bar.
Today, every Naturalis soap is created in small batches with carefully selected oils, butters, botanicals, and ingredients inspired by nature — from rosehip and calendula to nourishing plant oils and natural sea sponges.
One of the most beautiful parts of this journey has been hearing stories from other families.
Recently, a mom purchased our eczema soap at a local Wisconsin festival for her baby’s very sensitive skin. Later, she reached out to share how happy she was with her experience. Moments like that remind us why we started.
Because behind every soap, there is a story.
A daughter.
A grandmother.
A tradition brought from Chile.
A difficult season that turned into a new beginning.
Naturalis is more than handmade soap — it is a piece of our family shared with yours.
Thank you for supporting our small business and allowing our creations to become part of your everyday rituals.
With love,
Patricia & Nury
